Support extended for Family Violence Response Coordination
27 May 2016.
Budget 2016 has provided funding for Family Violence Response Coordination (FVRC).
FVRC funds 40 family violence networks, working with 1,788 local agencies to undertake family violence prevention activities.
The funding, which totals $2.8 million, will allow the Ministry of Social Development to extend current FVRC contracts for a further 12 months.
During this time, these services will be considered as part of the Ministerial Group on Family Violence and Sexual Violence Work Programme, which focuses on getting victims the help they need, holding perpetrators to account, and working harder to stop these forms of violence from happening in the first place.
