COVID-19 wage subsidies - Employer Search
Use the 'COVID-19 wage subsidies - employer search' button below to search for employers who have received any of the COVID-19 Wage Subsidies.
The search will tell you:
- the name of the employer
- the number of employees for whom payment has been made
- the amount paid
- the type of COVID-19 payment paid.

If there are a lot of searches underway right now, you may need to try again soon.
Publishing this information makes sure that payments under the scheme are transparent and that the scheme is accountable to the public.
Repayments
There are some instances where a business needs to refund part or all of the subsidy. Once a refund is made, it may take 2-3 working days for payment information to be updated in the database.
Businesses who refund all of the subsidy because they applied in error may be removed from the database.
Can’t find an employer?
If your search can’t find an employer it may be because:
- they haven’t applied
- their application hasn’t been processed yet
- they’ve been declined
- they haven’t yet been added to the list
- they are listed under a different name
- they repaid all the subsidy payment because they applied in error (it may take 2-3 working days for payment information to be updated in the database)
- they have 3 or fewer employees (for privacy reasons we can’t show details about these employers).
The list could show the name the employer put on their application, or the name that IRD has for them. This might be different to the name you know them as.
If you can’t find your employer, you can:
- ask your employer for the name they used on their application,
- check your employment agreement for the business name used,
- check your bank account for your employer’s account name with your salary deposits.

For employees
Your employer must tell you if they apply for a wage subsidy for you, and they must ask for your consent to give us some of your details in the application. This is part of the declaration they agree to when they apply.
Employers don’t always apply for all their employees, and they don’t have to apply for a wage subsidy at all if they don’t want to, but they still need to comply with employment law.
You should talk to you employer first if:
- you haven’t been paid
- you think your pay is wrong
- you have questions about how the subsidy is paid.
If your employer won’t tell you if they’ve included you in their application, and the Employer Search Tool (above) shows that they’ve been paid, you can fill out our request form to find out if you were included in this payment. We can only tell you this if the application has been processed.

If you believe an employer has acted unlawfully, contact the Ministry of Social Development and give us any information you can. You can find the relevant form at the following link, by choosing 'Benefit or Wage Subsidy Fraud Allegation' from the drop-down list:

Employers who would like more information regarding the COVID-19 Wage Subsidy (2020), Wage Subsidy Extension (2020), Resurgence Wage Subsidy (2020), COVID-19 Wage Subsidy March 2021 and COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021 should visit the Work and Income website.
Correction
The company CCE Group Ltd was incorrectly listed in the COVID-19 Employer Search Tool under its former trading name Soap Opera Productions Limited. This has been corrected.
