Come and see us at Pasifika and Polyfest
If you’re checking out the beautiful sights and sounds of the Pasifika Festival or Polyfest in Auckland this year, come and visit our MSD stalls.
- Pasifika Festival, Western Springs Park, 14-15 March 2020.
- Polyfest, Manukau Sports Bowl, 18-21 March 2020.
We’ll have lots of information about MSD services, such as Mana in Mahi and Studylink. And we can also chat about entitlements and employment or point you in the right direction to services you need.
We recently attended the ASB Polyfest Leaders’ Conference for school leaders from 42 schools from the Auckland region where we ran a financial and holistic wellbeing workshop for 200 young people.

Building capacity among our Pacific staff
As part of MSD’s Pacific strategy, Pacific Prosperity, we’re working to build capability amongst our Pacific staff. One of the ways we’re doing this is through Koko Talanoa #Mentoring #Leadership, a mentoring and leadership programme designed by our Pacific staff, for our Pacific staff.
Koko Talanoa is all about equipping our Pacific staff with the tools to encourage them to reach their aspirations and career goals. It provides a place of belonging where Pacific staff can share their own stories, and grow by encouraging and inspiring each other.
The Koko Talanoa #Mentoring programme is run for up to six months and includes group mentor training and mentee networking.
In addition to mentoring, Koko Talanoa #Leadership also includes a leadership programme where staff can hear from Pacific role models from the private, public and community sectors. By sharing their stories – the good the bad and the ugly – it is hoped they will be able to inspire future leaders on a personal and professional level.
