Emergency Housing System Review
22 December 2022.
These papers contain key analysis and decisions sought from the Emergency Housing System Review which was commissioned in 2021 by the Minister of Housing and Minister for Social Development and Employment.
In July 2021, Ministers asked officials from MSD and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to review the emergency housing system and provide a series of report backs.
In December 2022, Cabinet agreed to progress 10 actions over the next 12-18 months to enable a better functioning emergency housing system. This will deliver improvements in the short-term, alongside longer-term homelessness prevention and housing supply initiatives.
The PDF documents below attach the advice provided to Ministers throughout the period of the review.
