The Incomes Report
The Household Incomes Report provides information on the material wellbeing of New Zealanders as indicated by their household incomes from all sources from 1982 to 2017.
The report uses data from Statistics New Zealand’s 2016-17 Household Economic Survey (HES) to update the previous report in the series which had information to 2016.
The interviews for the 2016-17 survey were carried out in the year to 30 June 2017, and asked about incomes in the twelve months prior to interview.
The material wellbeing of New Zealand households: trends and relativities using non-income measures
This report provides information on the material wellbeing of New Zeanders using non-income measures (or non-monetary indicators).
The report uses data from Statistics New Zealand's Household Economic Surveys (HES) from 2006-07 to 2016-17 and from MSD's 2008 Living Standards Survey.
The material wellbeing of New Zealand households: Overview and Key Findings
This brings together the key definitions, concepts and findings of the two main reports in the one place.
The next update for all three reports is planned for mid 2019 using data from the 2017-18 HES.
