Driving forces include:
- The Social Security Act outlines specific entitlements and obligations, while other core legislation sets out minimum obligations for the public sector in how we collect, manage and use data – NZ Public Records Act, Privacy Act, Official Information Act, Human Rights Act, Bill of Rights Act, Stats Act, Ombudsmen Act.
- The Data Protection and Use Policy sets expectations for respectful, trusted and transparent services that support the wellbeing of people and communities.
- Te Pae Tawhiti – Our Future is about MSD’s future role and how we can make a bigger and better difference for New Zealanders.
- Whakamana Tāngata – Restoring dignity to New Zealand social security guides the Government’s welfare overhaul programme
